Men's Tennis Loses 4-3 to No. 1 UCLA

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 1 UCLA men's tennis team defeated No. 17 Fresno State 4-3 in a close match today at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. With this loss the Bulldogs are 2-2 while the Bruins improve to 3-0.
The Bulldogs were down 1-0 after the doubles but fought back with single wins from Olivier Le Jeune (Sr., Porspoder, France), Andy Scorteanu (Sr., Palm Springs, Calif.), and Rob Cheyne (Sr., Wellington, New Zealand).
The four hour match was ultimately decided on court No. 2 where Brandon Kramer defeated No. 23 Peter Luczak (Jr., Melbourne, Australia) 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
"It's a heartbreaking loss but a great effort by our guys. This will make us stronger in the long run," said head coach Michael Hegarty.
The Bulldogs have their first home match this Saturday at 1 p.m. where they will face the Sacramento Hornets.
