FRESNO STATE NOTES
- Tonight's attendance was 41,128, making this the second consecutive game Fresno State has sold out Bulldog Stadium. It is the first time that has happened since 1993, when FS drew back-to-back 40,000-plus crowds against Utah State and Air Force.
- Fresno State is 7-1 all-time when the crowd at Bulldog Stadium is in excess of 40,000 people. The win was FS's 100th all-time at Bulldog Stadium. Fresno State has also won 12 consecutive games at home and is 16-3 at Bulldog Stadium under head coach Pat Hill.
- David Carr's first quarter 1-yard run was the first of his career and the team's first rushing touchdown of the season.
- The Bulldogs scored on their first offensive drive, the second consecutive game they have done so. Dante Marsh's 27-yard interception return in the first quarter was the first touchdown of his career. It was also the first time the Bulldogs defense has scored a TD this season and the first defensive TD since Oct. 30, 1999, when Curtis Edwards and Anthony Limbrick both had interception returns for touchdowns against Tulsa.
- Fresno State had 27 points in the first quarter, the most in the Pat Hill era and the most since Oct. 31, 1992, when the Bulldogs put up 28 against Wyoming in a 42-31 victory. The 44 points at halftime was the most since FS racked up 66 against New Mexico on Oct. 5, 1991, in a 94-17 win.
- Derrick Ward's blocked punt in the second quarter was the team's first of the season and first since Ward blocked a punt against Nevada last season.
- Ward's rushing touchdown in the first quarter was his first of the season.
- Bernard Berrian's 88-yard punt return for a touchdown was the first time a Bulldog has returned a punt for a TD since Payton Williams returned one 66 yards against UTEP on Oct. 24, 1998. Berrian's return is also the longest ever for a Fresno State player at Bulldog Stadium.
- Fresno State's two interceptions is its most in a game this season.
- In Fresno State's last four home games, it has outscored its opponents by an overall score of 181-54, good for an average score of 45-14.
- Pat Hill runs his all-time home winning percentage to .842 with the win, the best in Fresno State history by coaches with more than three years experience. His WAC home winning percentage is now .917, best in school history.
