Phil Steele releases preseason Pac-12 team

FRESNO, Calif. - As Fresno State prepares for its first season on the field as a member of the Pac-12, the Bulldogs have earned their first set of preseason accolades. Phil Steele released his preseason Pac-12 team, highlighted by five first team selections for the Bulldogs.

Offensively, linemen Edward Fonua and Brayden Walton highlight the first team. Seniors Deijon Laffitte (DL) and Simeon Harris (NKL) are also on the first team, along with kickoff returner Rayshon Luke.

Bryson Donelson (RB) and Josiah Freeman (WR) were Fresno State's selections to the second team. Newcomer Ethan Rossetti was selected as the second team longsnapper.

Rolan Fullwood was the third Bulldog offensive lineman selected to a preseason team, earning a spot on the third team. He is joined by linebacker K'vion Thunderbird and safety Ryan Wilson. Transfer kicker Manaki Watanabe was also selected to the third team.

Fresno State had five selections on the fourth team. Luke was tabbed a fourth team running back alongside transfer offensive lineman Oscar Weigel. Defensively, lineman Merhauti Xepera and corner Kiontre Harris saw fourth team honors. Punt returner Jordan Malau'ulu also earned a spot on the fourth team.

Fresno State's roster is loaded with returning talent and veteran players. In year two under head coach Matt Entz, the Bulldogs return 14 starters and all but one full-time coach from last season. The Bulldogs had 28 players join the team ahead of spring ball, including 18 transfers and 10 freshmen.
