Gemoll Named WAC Player Of The Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State first baseman Brandon Gemoll (So., San Jose, Calif.) was named WAC Player of the Week Monday. It is the third time Gemoll has been honored this season and the sixth time a Bulldog has been named either player or pitcher of the week in 2000.
Gemoll continued to wield a hot bat for the Bulldogs, as he hit .667 (8-for-12) in last weekend's series against Hawai'i. Gemoll had three doubles, one home run, three RBIs, 14 total bases, a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage. He also was perfect in the field, handling 23 chances without an error. Gemoll had two hits on Friday and three hits on both Saturday and Sunday.
Gemoll leads the team in batting average (.413), hits (45), multi-hit games (16), RBIs (28), total bases (67), slugging percentage (.615) and is tied for the team lead with two stolen bases and eight multi-RBI contests. He is second on the squad with four home runs and a .447 on-base percentage.
No. 16 Fresno State returns to action Tuesday afternoon when it travels to Sacramento State to take on the Hornets. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Hornet Field.
