- A win tonight would assure Fresno State of its 24th consecutive winning season and give the Bulldogs 14 consecutive 30-win seasons.
- Fresno State can move into a first-place tie with San Jose State in the conference standings with a victory this evening.
- Sunday's 9-2 win moved head coach Bob Bennett into sole possession of ninth place on the NCAA Division I all-time victories list. Bennett, who has a career record of 1,218-697-4 (.637) in his 32 seasons at Fresno State, is the fifth-winningest active head coach in the country.
- Yesterday's win was Fresno State's 12th come-from behind victory of the season.
- The Bulldogs will be seeking their eighth series win of the season tonight.
- Fresno State is undefeated when leading after five (21-0), six (21-0), seven (23-0) and eight innings (27-0) this season.
- The Bulldogs continued their late-inning dominance after the sixth inning in yesterday's victory. The Bulldogs plated four runs in the seventh and a run in the eighth and now have outscored their opponents 98-48 in the final three frames this year (42-20 in the seventh, 39-18 in the eighth and 17-10 in the ninth).
- Second baseman Tom Creighton (So., Weldon, Calif.) continues to get the job done from the leadoff spot. Creighton was 2-for-5 with three RBIs in yesterday's win and he extended his hitting streak to a career-high 11 games (began on March 25). He is hitting .439 (18-for-41) with nine runs scored, three doubles, seven RBIs and nine walks during the streak. It is the second-longest hitting streak by a Bulldog this year. Creighton has reached base by either hit, walk or hit by pitch in 29 consecutive contests and in 38 of the 39 games he has played in this season. The 1999 WAC Freshman of the Year enters tonight's game with six consecutive two-hit games and 14 multi-hit tilts in 2000. Creighton, who has a .981 fielding percentage this year, has handled 139 consecutive chances without an error. His last miscue occurred on Feb. 27 at Rice.
- First baseman Brandon Gemoll (So., San Jose, Calif.) was 2-for-5 yesterday and he extended his hitting streak to a career-best 10 games (began on March 26). It also was Gemoll's team-leading 22nd multi-hit game of the season. He has five consecutive two-hit games and is hitting .349 (15-for-43) with two triples and seven RBIs during the hitting streak. Gemoll has hit safely in 17 of his past 18 games. He has a .417 (15-for-36) batting average with eight RBIs in 10 career games against Hawai'i.
- Right-hander Nick Moran (So., Elk Grove, Calif.) will take the mound for the Bulldogs in tonight's contest. Moran, who is 1-1 with a 4.28 ERA this season in 11 appearances this season, will be making his third start of the year. In his career against Hawai'i, he is 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA in 11.1 innings of work (two appearances/one start).
- Starting pitcher Shawn Hannah (Sr., Clovis, Calif.) tossed his second complete game of the season yesterday and improved to 6-2 for the season. Hannah allowed two runs and scattered nine hits in the 113-pitch performance.
