FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs continued fall camp today by going through another two-a-day practice in 100 degree heat at the Fresno State Practice Facility. The day ended with the annual Kickoff Dinner at the Fresno Convention Center.
The team deviated from schedule and did not split into two halves for the first practice session. Instead, the entire team participated in the morning session, which ran for approximately one hour. The squad reconvened at 2 p.m. for the second session of the day, which ran from 2:45-4:15 p.m.
The day was capped with the Kickoff Dinner, emceed by Fresno mayoral candidates Dan Whitehurst and Alan Autry. The crowd of over 1,000 were entertained with a 1999 highlight video, an introduction of the 2000 Bulldogs and the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to former Bulldog football great Al Radka. Assistant head coach John Baxter closed the evening by recognizing the 31 Bulldogs who achieved a grade point average of over 3.0 last year.
Fresno State kicks the season off on Sept. 2 against Ohio State. Tickets for that game and season tickets may be purchased at the Fresno State Ticket Office (278-DOGS) or by clicking the "TICKETS" link on the left-hand side of this page.
