FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's season football ticket sales continue to be strong, surpassing the 28,000 mark today, according to athletics ticket manager Scott Wetherbee.
As of 2 p.m. this afternoon, the total of 28,061 is ahead of pace to break the all-time record of 28,375 season tickets sold in 1993.
In addition, ticket sales for the home opener against Cal on Sept. 23 are also going well. A sellout of Bulldog Stadium, capacity 41,031, is expected as a little more than 4,000 tickets remain for that game.
According to Wetherbee, fans can still get good seats for the Cal game by buying a season ticket package. It will be the first appearance by a Pac-10 team in Bulldog Stadium since 1996.
"Season ticket sales continue to be strong and I would expect if we keep our current pace we will break the record in the next couple of days," Wetherbee said. "There has been a lot of excitement for the Cal game. I anticipate a sellout before September 23."
According to Wetherbee, a limited number of Family Fun Packages remain. The Family Fun Package, which includes two adult and two children's reserved season tickets, sell for $216.
Fresno State is coming off an 8-5 overall record, a WAC championship in 1999 and berth in the EA Sports Las Vegas Bowl.
Tickets are available at the Bulldog Ticket Office, online at www.gobulldogs.com or by calling (559) 278-DOGS. Student season tickets are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each weekday at the Free Speech Area on campus.
