Track and Field Hosts Weight Pentathlon

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field program is gearing up for the weight pentathlon to be held at Warmerdam Field this Saturday, January 13, 2001. The all-day competition will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m.

Both the men's and women's track teams will compete in the five throwing events. The events are scheduled as follows:

Women's Hammer: 10 a.m. Men's Hammer: 11 a.m. Women's Discus: 11 a.m. Men's Discus: 12 p.m. Women's 20-lb Weight: 12 p.m. Men's 35-lb Weight: 1 p.m. Women's Shot Put: 1 p.m. Men's Shot Put: 2 p.m. Women's Javelin: 2 p.m. Men's Javelin: 3 p.m.

All event times are approximate and will run ahead of schedule if at all possible.

Among the area teams participating in addition to Fresno State are: Fresno Pacific, Fresno City, UC Davis and Cal State Bakersfield, as well as some former Bulldogs.
