Three Bulldogs qualify for NCAA West First Round

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team will send three athletes to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field West First Round, held at the University of Arkansas on May 27-30. The Bulldogs competing in Fayetteville will be vying for a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on June 10-13.
For the first time since 2015, Fresno State is sending a male athlete to the NCAA Regional. Junior Jabari King qualified in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 7.78m at the Mountain West Championships. King, a Fresno native and graduate of Central High School, is No. 18 in the west with that mark. His jump last weekend is No. 7 all-time at Fresno State and the furthest jump by a Bulldog since 2008.
Junior Liz Tarczy makes her return to the NCAA West First Round in the high jump. She is currently ranked No. 23 in the field with a season-best mark of 1.82m. Tarczy looks ahead to her third straight trip to the NCAA First Round.
Senior Zoe Yeast qualified in the hammer with a personal-best mark of 62.62m. She sits at No. 21 in the field heading into the event. Yeast's throw is No. 7 all-time at Fresno State. She will head to her first postseason event since joining the Bulldogs last year.
