Golf Readies for Pacific Invitational

Golf Team at Pacific Invitational Oct. 22-23
The Fresno State Golf team is at the 29th Annual Pacific Invitational this week. The tournament will be held at the Reserve at Spanos Park. The par 72 course has a rating of 74.2 and a 133 slope. The course is 7,000 yards long. There are lakes on 12 holes.
Last Year's Results at Pacific
The 'Dogs took 6th place as did Jonathan Echols as he shot a score of 70-74-68=212 (-4). Nick Watney finished 10th with a score of 69-78-68=215 (-1). Dustin Smith finished 27th with a score of 70-77-74=221 (+5). Chad Spencer placed 80th with a score of 74-77-83=234 (+18).

Golfstat has listed Nick Watney 7th with 4.63 in Par 5 scoring. He is 4th with 1.776 for Putts on the green in regulation. Watney is 6th with .671 for total short game.

Golfweek.com ranks the golf team 8th as of October 19, 200. Individual rankings list bulldog golfers just out of the top 10. Nick Watney ranks 11th. Jonathan Echols ranks 15th. Chad Spencer ranks 250th, Dustin Smith ranks 323rd, Ian Nelson ranks 423rd, Ryan Carter ranks 741st, Tony Harmon ranks 1,359th, George McKean ranks 1,632st, and Eric Witherall ranks 1,690th.
Bulldogs Went to Pepperdine on October 8-9
The Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate was at the Saticoy Country Club. The Course is a Par 72 and is 6,883 yards. The Course rating is 73.6 and has a 136 slope.
Echols Takes Second at Pepperdine
Senior Jonathan Echols placed second in the Pepperdine Invitational. He shot a 74-72-72-218 (+2). Nick Watney also had a top 10 finish. He shot a 73-78-71-222 (+6) and placed 9th.
Fresno State Places Second at Pepperdine
After 3 rounds of play, the Bulldogs placed second with a team score of 297-305-289-891 (+27) to place behind Pepperdine.

Senior Dustin Smith (Cresent City, Calif.) finished 21st and shot 72-77-76-225 (+9). Freshman Ian Nelson finished 41st and shot 81-78-72-231 (+15). Sophomore Chad Spencer (Rocklin, Calif.) finished 46th and shot 78-81-74-233 (+17).
