Carr Named Finalist for Johnny Unitas Award

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Quarterbacks for three of the country's teams ranked in the AP's Top 25 are among the finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
The five finalists are Eric Crouch of No. 2 Nebraska, Joey Harrington of No. 8 Oregon, Kurt Kittner of No. 21 Illinois, David Carr of Fresno State and Zak Kustok of Northwestern.
The award is presented each year to the nation's top senior college quarterback by the Frank Camp Chapter of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation.
The winner will be announced Nov. 27. NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas will make the presentation Dec. 7 in Louisville.
Florida State quarterback Chris Weinke won the award last year.
Crouch has passed for 1,088 yards and rushed for 798 yards for seven touchdowns.
Harrington has led Oregon's offense with 1,796 passing yards, completing 143 of 245 passes with 16 touchdowns.
Kittner has completed 125 of 236 passes for 1,839 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Fourth nationally in total offense, Carr has completed 198 of 310 passes for 2,545 passes and 21 touchdowns for the Bulldogs.
Kustok has thrown for 1,665 yards, completing 151 of 260 passes with 10 touchdowns.
