Berrian Named WAC Special Teams Player of the Week

DENVER - Hawai'i quarterback Nick Rolovich, Rice free safety Jason Hebert and Fresno State kick returner Bernard Berrian were named the offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively.
Rolovich, a senior from Novato, Calif. (C.C. of San Francisco), completed 30-of-53 passes for 500 yards and a school-record seven touchdown passes in Hawai'i's 52-51 victory over Miami (Ohio). He threw touchdown passes to four different receivers and had a long of 78 yards to Ashley Lelie. He also rushed three times for 15 yards.
Hebert, a senior from Spring, Texas (Klein HS), had nine tackles (eight solo), one interception, one fumble return for 11 yards and two pass deflections in Rice's 27-17 win against UTEP.
Berrian, a junior from Winton, Calif. (Atwater HS), had a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown and a 49-yard kickoff return in Fresno State's 61-14 win at Nevada. Berrian also added 166 yards receiving and 73 yards rushing to rack up 357 all-purpose yards.
The other offensive nominees were senior tight end Jeb Putzier, Boise State, junior receiver Bernard Berrian, Fresno State, freshman running back Chance Kretschmer, Nevada, sophomore quarterback Kyle Herm, Rice, and sophomore running back Keylon Kincade, SMU.
Nominees on the defensive side were junior safety Quintin Mikell, Boise State, senior linebacker Maurice Rodriguez, Fresno State, and senior defensive back Nate Jackson, Hawai'i.
Other special team nominations were sophomore punt returner Tim Gilligan, Boise State, sophomore punter Mat McBriar, Hawai'i, and junior punter Travis Hale, Rice.
