In the bottom of the seventh, Gemoll led off with a double to get things started for Fresno State. Freshman Casey McGehee (Aptos, Calif.) was then walked to put runners on first and second, until Gemoll advanced to third on a wild pitch. Four batters later, with the bases loaded Tom Creighton (Jr., Weldon, Calif.) doubled to score Hallaian and Tony Guzman (Sr., Clovis, Calif.) giving the Bulldogs a 4-1 lead at the end of seven innings.
