FRESNO, Calif. -- No. 28 Fresno State women's tennis recorded their second consecutive shutout victory in the San Diego Tennis Classic Saturday, defeating host San Diego 7-0.
The win improves the Bulldog's record to 7-1 on the season and is Fresno State's fifth in a row.
Highlighting singles competition was All-American junior Kim Niggemeyer's (ranked No. 24 nationally) 7-6 (6), 6-4 win over San Diego's Katarina Valkoyova at the No. 1 spot. Liesl Fichtbauer, Simone Jardim, Ewa Grusiecka, Kelly Ramirez and Courtney Jantz all notched singles victories as well.
The Bulldogs swept the three doubles matches en route to capturing the doubles point.
Fresno State will square off today against No. 25 Texas A&M in the championship match at 1 p.m.
