Women's Tennis Moves Up In Latest Rankings

FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno State's women's tennis team moved up in the latest WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings released today by the ITA National Committee.
The women's squad moved up two spots to No. 28 after defeating then-No. 51 Oregon at home 4-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs (5-1) will be competing in the San Diego Tennis Tournament this weekend. They are scheduled to face Yale on Friday in their first round matchup at 8:30 a.m.
The men's team remained at No. 23 for the second consecutive week after going 1-1 on their three-match road swing. The Bulldogs (3-3) edged Tulsa 4-3 on Mar. 1 on the first leg of the trip, then lost a 4-3 thriller to Baylor two days later. Fresno State's match against SMU on Mar. 4 was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. The Bulldogs will face UC Santa Barbara on Saturday before their marquee matchup against No. 12 Illinois at home on Sunday.
The top 10 women's teams are as follows: No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Duke, No. 4 Florida, No. 5 Texas, No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Arizona State, No. 8 Notre Dame, No. 9 Northwestern and No. 10 California.
The top 10 men's teams are as follows: No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 Duke, No. 4 TCU, No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 6 Washington, No. 7 Georgia, No. 8 Tennessee, No. 9 SMU and No. 10 Pepperdine.
