Baseball Bulldogs Awarded at the 2001 Dugout Club Awards Banquet

FRESNO, Calif. - To begin the 2001 Dugout Club Banquet assistant coach Mike Rupcich was honored with a plaque for his 25 years of commitment, honor and loyalty to the Fresno State Baseball program. During the awards ceremony senior second baseman Oscar Lopez walked away with two trophies at the end of the evening.
"We are all a little drained from this weekend," head coach Bob Bennett said of his 2001 Bulldogs squad. Describing this years senior class coach Bennett said, " This group is true Bulldog through and through, in front of you is a group of outstanding gentleman who represent the true definition of what a Bulldog should be." The crowd responded with a standing ovation for the eight seniors that played their final game at Pete Beiden Field this afternoon. To end the evening coach Bennett proclaimed, "We are not going to finish the season in San Jose."
