FRESNO, Calif. - Only 250 tickets remain for what is being billed as the biggest game in Bulldog Stadium history. Fresno State hosts No. 10 Oregon State, a team picked by Sports Illustrated to win this year's national championship.
"We expect a very big walk-up crowd the day of the game," said athletics ticket manager Scott Wetherbee. "There are very few tickets left, and it would be wise for anyone who does not have tickets yet to buy them as quickly as possible Sunday morning."
Once the 250 tickets have been sold, there will be no more tickets available in the seating bowl. Seating in the auxiliary bleachers, located throughout the stadium with excellent views of the playing field, will be available after the seating bowl is sold out.
The ticket office, located at the south end of Bulldog Stadium, opens Sunday at 10 a.m. and will be selling tickets until kickoff.
The Bulldogs, which own the third longest home winning streak in the nation at 15 games, are hosting the Beavers in the home opener. Oregon State is coming off an 11-1 season in which it finished ranked fourth in the nation after defeating Notre Dame 41-7 in the Fiesta Bowl.
Fresno State is 1-0 on the season after an upset victory over Colorado 24-22 last Sunday. The Bulldogs are coming off their second straight bowl appearance.
Fresno State had sellouts for four of the first five games of the 2000 season, including a Bulldog Stadium record crowd of 42,285 in the home opener vs. California, a 17-3 Fresno State victory.
