FRESNO, Calif. - The Heisman Trophy will be on display at the Bulldog Shop from 2-5 p.m. on Thursday and beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Homecoming tailgate in Bulldog Diamond. The Heisman Trophy is awarded annually by the Downtown Athletic Club of New York City to college football's most outstanding player.
The award display is part of the trophy's national tour. The success of Fresno State quarterback David Carr, who has emerged as a candidate for the Heisman Trophy, has brought it to Fresno this year. Carr, who ranks among the best in the nation in passing offense and passing efficiency, has thrown for 1,092 yards 10 touchdowns this year.
Fresno State, ranked No. 10 by Associated Press and No. 13 by the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll, takes on Louisiana Tech on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium. The Bulldogs will be looking to run their record to 5-0 on the season.
