- Fresno State's win is its third in a row and takes them above .500 for the first time this year. It also increases the Bulldogs record in the all-time series to 3-1.
- The Bulldogs have started 2-0 in WAC play for the third year in a row.
- Rodney Davis rushed for 201 yards, the 11th-best single-game effort in Fresno State history. It was the first time a Bulldog rushed for over 200 yards since Paris Gaines had 203 on Sept. 29, 2001, against Louisiana Tech.
- Both Marque and Rodney Davis scored touchdowns tonight, the first time the brothers scored TDs in the same game this season.
- The Bulldogs did not turn the ball over for the third consecutive game. Paul Pinegar also did not have an interception for the third game in a row.
- Nate Ray's 103-yard interception return on the final play of the game was the longest return in school history. It was also Fresno State's first interception return for a TD since Lawrence Deck against San Jose State in 2000.
- Fresno State improved to 4-1 in night games with the victory. Its only loss at night came in the opener at Wisconsin.
- Tonight's attendance was 41,031, exactly capacity at Bulldog Stadium. It was the first sellout of the 2002 year.
- The Bulldogs improved to 27-4 at home under head coach Pat Hill. Fresno State has won 23 of its last 25 at Bulldog Stadium.
- Joe Schey suffered a first degree sprain of his left knee in the first half and will be re-examined next week. He did not play in the second half.
- Marc Dailey's third quarter interception was the second of his career.
- Rodney Davis now has 682 rushing yards in the last six games.
- James Cummings' fourth quarter touchdown run was the first of his career.
