FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State football team will be making its final home appearance of the season on Saturday vs. Nevada, and less than 2,000 seats remain for the game.
As of 3 p.m. today, Fresno State has sold over 39,400 tickets for the game. Ticket sales have picked up as the week has progressed and a sellout of Bulldog Stadium, capacity 41,031, is expected.
"At our current pace, we should sell out the game," said athletics director Scott Johnson. "Our walk-up sales have always been strong. It should be a great environment with two teams fighting for postseason play."
Fresno State and Nevada are both vying to become bowl eligible. The Bulldogs need two wins in their final three games while the Wolf Pack needs just one more win to become eligible.
Fresno State will be honoring its 12 seniors in their final home game at Bulldog Stadium. The Bulldog senior class has a posted a home record of 14-2. The seniors will be honored during pregame festivities.
In addition, Saturday's game has been designated Paul Schechter Appreciation Day. Schechter, who served as Fresno State's head athletics trainer and director of sports medicine for 27 years, retired from the university Oct. 1.
Tickets for the game are available through the Fresno State ticket office by calling (559) 278-DOGS or online at www.gobulldogs.com. Internet sales end Friday at 5 p.m.
