Men's Tennis Loses to No. 18 California

FRESNO, Calif. - In doubles, Cal took the point after Fresno State lost all three sets. Hector Almada and Greg Shearer fell to John Paul Fruttero and Robert Kowalczyk 8-2. Nick Fustar and Dustin Ilic posed a challenge for Ben Miles and Balazs Veress, but eventually lost 8-4. Alex Krohn and Stefan Suta were defeated by Chase Exon and Wayne Wong 8-5.
In singles the Bears continued to dominate, going 6-0 against the Bulldogs. Nick Fustar, at the No. 1 spot, fell to Fruttero 6-2, 6-0. Stefan Suta, playing at No. 2, forced Wayne Wong into three sets, but lost 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. At the No. 3 position, Hector Almada forced three extremely close sets, but was eventually defeated by Veress 6-7, 7-5, 7-6 (1).
The Bulldogs head to Stanford today and will take on the No. 1 ranked Cardinal at noon. Their next home match will take place Monday at 1:30 against BYU.
