Women's Track and Field Ranked Eighth in the Nation

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's track and field squad was ranked eighth in the nation by the United States Association of Track and Field. The 'Dogs tallied 240.97 points this season based a point value awarded for the best marks in each event.
The squad is among top colleges such as Florida (ranked No. 1), Indiana, South Carolina and Brigham Young. In addition, junior Crystal Simmons is among the top 10 in the nation for her triple jump mark of 40-9. Her time of 8.57 in the 60-meter hurdles ranks her 11th overall.
The men have one competitor ranked in the top 10, senior Ryan Beckenhauer. The shot putter is third in the nation for his NCAA provisional mark of 61-3.
The Bulldogs' next competition is in Reno, Nev., at the Bill Cosby Invitational, Saturday, Feb. 9.
