Bulldogs open Mountain West Championships in Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team opened up the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday.
Zoe Yeast took fourth in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 59.06m/193-9 on her final attempt. Yeast was sitting third with that throw before Boise State's Victoria Lotz surpassed on her final attempt with a throw of 59.94m/196-8 to take the third place podium spot.
On the track, Enrique Loredo ran a personal-best time to finish 12th in the men's 800m race with a time of 1:52.15. Elijah Williams and Marcus Jauregui also ran in the men's 800m race to open the championship event.
Freshmen Hannah Pacheco, Trinity Bailey, Zoe-Analia Goldsmith all participated in their first career MW Championship while senior Tearra Haney opened competition in her final championship event.
Day two of the Mountain West Championship resumes tomorrow. Fresno State will begin its action with the men's long jump at 4 p.m. PT. More information is available at TheMW.com.
