Fritz Named WAC Pitcher of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Right-handed pitcher Ben Fritz has been named the Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for March 4-10.
Fritz, a junior from San Jose, Calif. (Oak Grove HS), picked up a complete game 5-2 victory against San Jose State on Sunday. Fritz gave up just four hits, one walk and struck out six to record his third complete game of the year. He ran his record to 3-2 with the win.
Additional pitcher of the week nominations included: sophomore David Aardsma, Rice.
Fritz and the Bulldogs hit the field again Monday in the opening day of the Pepsi/Johnny Quik. Fresno State will play Gonzaga at 7 p.m. at Beiden Field. The Pepsi/Johnny Quik tournament continues throughout the week.
