Seven 'Dogs Excel in the Classroom
The Bulldogs tie last year's total for those honored in the Kiawanis Torch of Excellence. Ryan Carter (Hacienda Heights, Calif.), Tony Harmon (Upland, Calif.), George McKean (Kingsburg, Calif.), Mark Modglin (Simi Valley, Calif.), Jeremy Moreno (Visalia, Calif.), Dustin Smith (Crescent City, Calif.), and Eric Witherall (Carlsbad, Calif.) all made the list.
Bulldogs in the Rankings
Golfweek lists the team at No. 9. Watney is ranked 12th. Echols is 52nd. The Precept GCAA Top-25 Coaches Poll moves the 'Dogs to seventh from 12th. Golfstat ranks the team No. 7 and Watney is in second place for the Golfstat cup behind Clemson's D.J. Trahan. Watney's scoring average is 70.14 and Trahan's is 69.86.
Bulldogs Pull Double Duty
The golf team travels to Southern California on March 4-5 for the Cleveland Golf Southwestern Intercollegiate. The team then moves to Santa Barbara on March 7-8 for the "Bite" Pacific Coast Invitational.
Fresno State Heads to Southern California March 4-5
After a few weeks off, the team will play in the Cleveland Golf Southwestern Intercollegiate at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. The course is a Par 71. Bulldogs Nick Watney (Dixon, Calif.), Jonathan Echols (Hanford, Calif.), Chad Spencer (Rocklin Calif.), Carter and Smith will play in the tournament. Fresno State will Face a 15 team field in the SW Intercollegiate.
Facts on SW Intercollegiate
Arizona has won the tournament the last two years. Fresno State, Minnesota and Southern California tied for fifth with 600 last year. Watney finished 18th and shot a 148 in last year's tournament.

'Dogs Travel to Santa Barbara March 7-8
Watney, Echols, Smith, Carter and Tony Harmon (Upland, Calif.) will play in the "Bite" Pacific Coast Invitational on the La Puisima Golf Course. The Bulldogs will face a 18 team field on the Par 72 course. Golf Magazine and Golf Digest list the course as one of the top 100 public courses in the United States. BYU won the Tournament last year. UCSB is hosting the event.
