FRESNO, Calif. - Head track and field coach, Bob Fraley, has signed three to national letters of intent. David Frazeur of Mission Viejo, Calif., Shari Joest of Clovis, Calif., and Dustin Lawrenson of Elk Grove, Calif., will join the Bulldogs' squad next year.
Frazeur, a Southern California native, was the Orange County Runner-up in the boys' hurdles. Joest, the only female signed, currently leads the Valley in the girls' high jump. Finally, Lawrenson, the only Northern California signee, leads the area in the boys' discus and is No. 2 in the state currently.
"Frazeur will bring some depth to our hurdles squad, which will be needed after the graduation of our top hurdler, said Fraley. "We have been short-handed in the high jump for the last couple of years, as a result we sought to recruit a pure high jumper. Sharie will fill that role."
Men's and women's throws coach Chris Campbell said this about Lawrenson. "Dustin is good fit for our program. He is a nice kid who works hard both as an athlete and a student. His talent as a discus thrower will benefit Fresno State immediately."
