FRESNO, Calif. - The annual Football Kickoff Dinner will be held Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Convention Center Exhibit Hall. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a social, with dinner served at 6 p.m.
Adult tickets may be purchased for $30. Kids 17-and-under cost $15. Table assignments will be made by date the paid reservation is received. If dinner guests wish to sit together, their paid reservations should be mailed together. Tables may be reserved for parties of 10 or 11.
The 2002 season is one of the most anticipated in Fresno State history after the Bulldogs soared to unprecedented heights in 2001. Last year's squad went 11-3 and climbed as high as No. 8 in the nation after winning their first six games, including victories over Wisconsin, Oregon State and Colorado.
This season's non-conference schedule looks just as demanding, with games at Wisconsin, Oregon and Oregon State looming before WAC contests begin. The home slate gets underway Aug. 29 against San Diego State.
The Kickoff Dinner is an opportunity for fans to meet the team and listen to head coach Pat Hill discuss the Bulldogs and his goals for the upcoming season. The dinner also serves at Hill's final public appearance before the first game, Aug. 23 at Wisconsin.
This year, kids 17-and-under can enter the "endzone," in which they can meet Fresno State players and have their complimentary poster signed by the Bulldogs. They can also practice their field goal kicking and passes in the area.
Vince Wesson will serve as the master of ceremonies for this year's dinner.
