HILO, Hawaii- The Bulldogs struggled into 13th place out of 26 teams with a final round score of 866, 30 strokes under first place UCLA (836) at the Taylor Made Invitational last week in Hilo, Hawaii.
"We played some good golf, but a few bad holes hurt us. I feel we are going to get better in the season," head coach Mike Watney said.
Individually, senior Nick Watney captured second place with a final score of 207, five strokes under first place Adam Meyer from TCU. Junior Jeremy Moreno finished in 48th with a score of 217, junior Chad Spencer finished in 75th with a score of 222, freshman Ryan McDonald finished 89th with a final score of 224 and sophomore Mark Modglin finished 93rd with a score of 225.
The 'Dogs will see action again Mon.-Tues., March 3-4 at the Cleveland Southwest Intercollegiate hosted by USC.
