Stefan Suta was named WAC Player of the Week after going 3-0 in both singles and doubles last weekend.

DENVER - Fresno State's Stefan Suta has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week.

Suta, a junior from Schwaebisch-Gmue, Germany, won all three of his singles matches last weekend, leading the Bulldogs to wins over Loyola Marymount, UC Santa Cruz and UC Davis. He improved his overall record to 19-5, which leads the team.

He also picked up three doubles wins with two different partners.

Other nominees included: Guillaume Bouvier, Boise State; Richard Barker, Rice; and Alejandro Tejerina, Tulsa.

Fresno State takes this week off and returns to the court March 8 when it travels to take on No. 10 Washington.
