Golf Finishes 13th at First Tournament of Spring Season

Tucson, Ariz.- The Bulldogs completed their first tournament of the spring season and finished 13th out of the 16 team Ping Arizona Intercollegiate tournament. The 'Dogs gathered a score of 865, just 36 strokes under first place Arizona.
Individually, senior Nick Watney tied for 26th with a final score of 213 (75-71-67), junior Jeremy Moreno tied for 38 with 215 (75-71-67), junior Chad Spencer tied for 52nd with 218 (79-68-71), sophomore Ian Nelson tied for 54th with 219 (77-75-67) and freshman Ryan McDonald tied for 79th with 230 (79-79-72).
"This was a rough tournament for us. We will just have to strengthen up for Hawaii and we'll be okay," head coach Mike Watney said.
The next action for golf will be in beautiful Hilo, Hawaii, Wed.-Fri., Feb. 12-14 at the Taylor Made Waikoloa Invitational.
