FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State wraps up its 2002-03 season Saturday against Rice. The WAC-champion Bulldogs enter 20-7 (13-4 WAC) following Wednesday's heartbreaking 62-59 loss at Tulsa.
The Owls are 18-9 (10-7 WAC) and lost Wednesday at Nevada. Rice is still vying for a high seed in the upcoming conference tournament, for which Fresno State has been ruled ineligible.
Fresno State leads the all-time series 10-1, although the teams have split the last two games. The Bulldogs hold a 3-1 mark against the Owls at Autry Court. Rice and Fresno State had never met until the Owls joined the Western Athletic Conference in 1997. Earlier this year, the Bulldogs topped Rice 71-70 when Damon Jackson hit a 14-footer with four seconds left.
