Men's Tennis Falls at No. 10 Washington 6-1

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 10-ranked Washington won the doubles point and and cruised in five singles matches on its way to a 6-1 victory over Fresno State at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
The loss snapped a three-match losing streak for the Bulldogs (6-5), who hadn't played since Feb. 23. The Huskies (11-0) continued their impressive start to the 2002-03 campaign.
Fresno State's lone singles victory came at No. 6, where Sergiu Modoc claimed a 7-5, 5-7, (10-7) win over UW's Peter Scharler.
Washington kicked off the match by taking two of the three doubles matches to grab an early 1-0 lead. Fresno State's win came at No. 3, where Danny O'Rourke and Marc Schaerer took out Fred Sundsten and Nick Weiss 8-6.
The Bulldogs stay in Seattle for a match Saturday against 41st-ranked San Diego at noon.
