Almada and Modoc Selected For NCAA Doubles Tournament

FRESNO, Calif. - The dramatic turnaround story of this year's Fresno State men's tennis team added another chapter with the invitation of Sergiu Modoc and Hector Almada to play in the NCAA Doubles Tournament, which begins May 21 at the University of Georgia.
Almada and Modoc have racked up a 15-4 record playing primarily at No. 1 doubles this year. They are currently ranked 21st in the nation.
As a team, the Bulldogs travels to Stanford, Calif., to play in the NCAA Team Tournament on May 10 against Arizona State. Fresno State is making a return to the NCAA's this year following a one-year absence. The Bulldogs went 7-16 in 2001-02 but made a 10-win improvement this season, the biggest turnaround in program history.
Fresno State also did not send a singles player or doubles team to the NCAA Tournament last year.
