FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs begin their 82nd season of college football on Saturday with a road game at No. 12 Tennessee. It marks the first ever meeting between the two schools. This year is the fourth consecutive season the Bulldogs have opened on the road. Fresno State opened 2002 at Wisconsin, losing 23-21.
Fresno State has never played Tennessee before. In fact, the Bulldogs have never played a team from the Volunteer State. In program history, Fresno State has only taken on one team from the SEC, that being Auburn in 1996, a game won handily by the Tigers 62-0.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live by ESPN2.
