Men's Tennis Finishes Strong in Tulsa

FRSNO, Calif. - Five Fresno State players won their matches against their Arkansas opponents on Sunday, the final day of the Polo Tennis Collegiate Tournament in Tulsa, Okla.
The tournament is the first competition of the year for the Bulldogs.
Fresno State was led by the 76th-ranked Hector Almada, the team's top player. The senior knocked off Arkansas' Rohan Gajjar 7-6 (4), 6-1, his second singles victory in three Flight A tournament matches.
Also victories in Flight A was Sergiu Modoc, who knocked off Viktor Hebrand of Arkansas 7-6 (4), 6-1.
In the Flight B singles bracket, three Bulldogs -- Alex Krohn, Greg Shearer and Andy Sinn -- all won. Krohn defeated the Razorbacks' Imraan Ismail 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, Shearer cruised past Talley Parker 6-2, 6-1 while Sinn grinded past Andrei Nicoara 6-4, 5-7, 6-3.
The Polo National College Tournament is a flighted competition and features some of the best programs in the nation. Nationally-ranked programs such as Texas A&M, Texas, Arkansas, Rice, Oklahoma and host Tulsa are participating.
Next up Ofor the Bulldogs is the ITA All-American Tournament in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Oct. 4.
