Legans Named WAC Player of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State guard Shantay Legans has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week for March 1-7.
Legans, a senior from Goleta, Calif. (California), averaged 27.5 points and 3.5 assists in two home wins for the Bulldogs last week. Legans scored a career-high 30 points and had four assists in a win over San Jose State. He was 7-of-10 from three-point range in that contest.
Against Hawaii, he scored 25 points and made 5-of-11 three-point shots. Legans played all 80 minutes of the two games and has now played 403 consecutive minutes. For the week, he was 16-of-28 from the field (.571), 12-of-21 from three-point range (.571) and made all 11 of his free throw attempts. It is Legans' first WAC Player of the Week award and second for a Bulldog this year.
The other nominations were senior guard/forward Bryan Defares, Boise State; junior guard Kirk Snyder, Nevada; sophomore guard Bryan Hopkins, SMU; and junior forward Guilherme Teichmann, Tulsa.
