Congratulations to the SMU Mustangs, winners of the 2004 WAC Golf Championships, held May 3-5 at the San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno. SMU claimed the title by shooting a 1-over-par 853.
Tulsa, at +12, was second while UTEP (+15) was third. Tying for fourth place were Boise State and Fresno State, both of which were +17.
Individually, Tulsa's David Inglis made WAC history by becoming the first player ever to claim an incredible four conference titles. He shot a 4-under-par 209, two shots better than James Allenby of UTEP and Casey Watabu of Nevada.
The highest Bulldog was Chad Spencer, who was tied for 12th at +1.
