Football Tickets Being Solid at Brisk Pace

FRESNO, Calif. - Coming off one of the best starts to a season in Bulldog football history, tickets for the home opener against Portland State are selling briskly. Single-game tickets and season ticket sales continue to climb this week.

The Bulldogs are coming off of road wins over Washington and No. 13 Kansas State. Fresno State is ranked No. 19 in this week's Associated Press college football poll.

"We have had a very busy week," said Russell Hayden, Director of Ticket Operations. "Due to the demand, we are expanding our locations to accommodate the number the people wanting tickets for the 2004 season and Saturday's game."

Hayden noted the following ticket sales procedures for students, season tickets and single game ticket sales:

The Save Mart Center Box Office will be selling single-game general public tickets from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Bulldog Shop, which is open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, is also an outlet for single-game football tickets.

Student single-game tickets are available at the Student Union on campus. Single-game student tickets for the Portland State contest are $10, and one guest ticket may be purchased for $15. The Student Union does not sell student season tickets.

Student season tickets are available at the Residence Dining Hall Office on Thursday and Friday and at the RDH counter during the lunch sessions. Season tickets for students are $50, with an additional guest ticket sold for $75. Single-game tickets are not available at the RDH.

Students will not be allowed to purchase season tickets after Friday, Sept. 17. There are less than 1,000 season student tickets remaining. Buying student season tickets is a $25 savings over single-game prices.

Phone orders and online single-game tickets for the Portland State game, if available, will end at 2 p.m. on game day. After that, they will only be available at the Bulldog Ticket Office, located at the south entrance of Bulldog Stadium.

Season tickets to the general public are available only at Bulldog Ticket Office, by calling (559) 278-DOGS or by going online at gobulldogs.com.

The Bulldog Ticket Office will handle single-game and season tickets sales for students and the general public.

As of 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, fewer than 5,000 tickets remained for the home opener against Portland State. The Bulldogs have sold over 28,300 season tickets to date.

Fresno State averaged 38,603 fans last season, the fifth-highest average in school history. The capacity of Bulldog Stadium is 41,031.
