Recently named the general manager of the Golden State Warriors, Higgins played at Fresno State from 1979-82 and is regarded as one of the most outstanding players in program history. He led the Bulldogs to two PCAA titles and two NCAA Tournament appearances in 1981 and '82.
It was in that 1982 season that Higgins led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Sweet 16, the best finish ever for Fresno State. During that year, he averaged 15.1 points for Boyd Grant's bunch.
