FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State begins its first conference road trip of the year Thursday at 5 p.m. PT against SMU. The Bulldogs enter 8-3 (2-0 WAC) having won two in a row after posting home victories last week over previously unbeaten Hawaii and then San Jose State. The Mustangs are 6-4 (1-1) after splitting a pair of overtime road games, falling to Rice before taking out Tulsa. Thursday's contest is being televised live back to the San Joaquin Valley by KFRE WB 59 (Comcast cable 5), with Ralph Wood and Randy Rosenbloom calling the action.
With SMU leaving the WAC for Conference USA after this season, this week's contest will be Fresno State's last league game at Moody Coliseum. The facility has been quite friendly to the Bulldogs, who have a 5-1 record at the Mustangs' home court. In its previous six games, Fresno State has shot 46.3 percent at Moody and is averaging 78 points per game. The Bulldogs have a higher winning percentage at Moody Coliseum than any other WAC road arena.
Fresno State wraps up its two-game WAC road trip Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT with a contest at Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs will be looking to avenge last year's stinging 80-75 double OT loss at the Thomas Assembly Center.
