- No. 22 Fresno State improved to 6-1 on the season, 4-0 in the WAC.
- Seniors Paul Pinegar, Garrett McIntyre, Dartangon Shack, Raymond Washington and Tyrone Culver served as game captains.
- Kicker Clint Stister did not play in the game due to an injury. In his place, Kyle Zimmerman, converted his first two PATs, including a 30-yard attempt after a holding penalty. He had a PAT blocked in the third quarter.
- Fresno State shutout an opponent in the first quarter for the fourth time this season. The Dogs didn't score in the first, the only time this season that's happened.
- Pinegar's 58-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Jamison in the second quarter was the longest pass completion of the season and matched Wendell Mathis's 58-yard run as the longest player from scrimmage this year. It was the longest reception by Jamison since he had a 77-yard reception against Rice in his freshman season of 2002.
- Mathis rushed for a career-high 229 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries. He averaged 12.1 yards per carry.
- Mathis scored his 10th, 11th and 13th touchdowns of the season. He has scored at least one touchdown in all seven games and leads the WAC.
- Mathis surpassed the 100-yard rushing mark for the second straight game and the third time in the last four games.
- Joe Fernandez caught a pass in every game this season and in 18 consecutive games. He at least one catch in 23 of his last 24 games. Fernandez has caught at least one pass 27 of his 33 career games. He suffered an injury after the reception and did not return to the game.
- Garrett McIntyre's block of a field goal attempt in the second quarter was the fifth block by the Bulldogs this season and the 60th of the Pat Hill era. The Dogs also thwarted a fake field goal attempt in the first quarter.
- The Bulldogs had just two first half drives, the fewest in a half this season.
- UH did not attempt a first half punt.
- Ikenna Ike extended his team lead in sacks with a third quarter sack of Colt Brennan. Ike has 4.5 on the season.
- Alan Goodwin made his first career interception early in the fourth quarter and returned the ball 26 yards.
- The Bulldogs stopped Hawaii on five of eight trips in the redzone, with two interceptions, a blocked field goal and forced two turnovers on downs.
- Hawaii didn't punt until the 7:15 mark of the fourth quarter.
- The Bulldogs got their first win at Hawaii since 1994, just their second since 1965.
