Sumlin Named WAC Offensive Player of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Bulldog running back Bryson Sumlin, a senior from Bakersfield, Calif. (West HS), was named the XBOX Live WAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Sumlin rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries and caught two passes for a team-high 41 yards and a touchdown in a 44-14 win over previously unbeaten Toledo. It was his sixth 100-yard rushing game of his career and moved him into 10th place on the Bulldog career rushing yardage list.
"Bryson had a great game and was a major factor in our ability to run the football," said had coach Pat Hill. "He has been a major contributor for us in his career. It's a great accomplishment for a former walk-on from the Valley who has made a big impact on our program."
Sumlin surpassed 2,000 career rushing yards against the Rockets while scoring his 27th career touchdown.
It's the second-time in his career he won the award. He last won it in 2004 when he rushed for more than 200 yards in Fresno State's 70-14 win over Hawaii.
