Cech, Tadevosian Win 8-1 in Doubles Final

FRESNO, Calif. - The 2005 Fresno State men's tennis Bulldog Classic is complete. On the final day of competition, the Bulldogs played well. Junior Jakub Cech and sophomore Sam Tadevosian dominated in the final of the Flight B doubles competition, beating Jeremy Drean and Jason Nguyen 8-1. In the doubles consolation final of Flight A, Senior Sergiu Modoc and junior Charles Irie lost to Jonas Mouly and Oscar Plotnik of San Diego 8-6.
Tadevosian started the day by winning the final of the Flight B singles consolation with a 7-5, 6-0 victory. Tadevosian went 3-1 in the tournament. Cech, Modoc and Irie all went 1-1 in singles play. In doubles, the Cech/Tadevosian combination went 3-0, while Irie and Modoc were 2-2.
"We played well in doubles this weekend," said head coach Jay Udwadia. "And Sam played solid especially today."
UCLA's Mathieu Dehaine beat teammate Jeremy Drean 6-4, 6-4, for the Flight A singles title. Tom Liversage of San Diego won the Flight B singles final, defeating Mike Ricks of Washington 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
