FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State football fans can get geared up for this week's big WAC showdown with Boise State by attending the Fresno State Quarterback Club on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
This game is considered one of the biggest in WAC history. It's latest into the season that two WAC teams have met while undefeated since 1977.
Head football coach Pat Hill will be speaking at the luncheon, which is open to the public. Hill will be discussing the Bulldog's game against Boise State. Fresno State enters the week ranked No. 20 in the national polls.
Wednesday's luncheon will be held at 11:45 a.m. at Pardini's in Fresno, located at 2257 West Shaw Ave. The cost for the luncheon is $15 for Quarterback Club members and $20 for non-members. The luncheon is limited to the first 300 fans.
Special guest speakers will be former Bulldog player and coach Darryl Rogers and senior safety Tyrone Culver. Rogers guided the Bulldogs from 1966-72, winning the 1968 CCAA championship, and earning two bowl appearances. He later coached at Arizona State, Michigan State and with the NFL's Detroit Lions.
Culver, in his third season as a starter, is one of Fresno State's top academic achievers. He has been selected Academic All-WAC three times in his career. He has 22 tackles this season and is tied for the team lead with two interceptions.
The Bulldogs (7-1, 5-0) have won 10 consecutive WAC games. The Broncos (7-2, 5-0) enter the game having won 31 straight WAC games.
The game is nearing a sellout, but tickets currently remain for the Boise State game. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tickets for Saturday's game are available at the Bulldog Ticket Office, via phone at (559) 278-DOGS or online at www.gobulldogs.com.
