Game Information
After hosting Norfolk State and UC Santa Barbara last week, Fresno State is in the middle of its longest homestand of the season. With five consecutive home appearances, the Bulldogs close out the year with San Francisco.
The Series
Fresno State and San Francisco will be playing for the 19th time. In the all-time series, the Bulldogs trail 13-5. While the two programs are meeting for the seventh straight season, the `Dogs have gone 3-3 against USF since the 1999-00 campaign. One of those losses include a double overtime decision in San Francisco (90-89, Dec. 2, 2000). Prior to the last seven meetings, which includes this year's meeting, Fresno State and San Francisco split the two prior contests with USF winning 91-82 in 1992 and Fresno State winning 73-67. With the series tied at 4-4 since 1992, the schools were rivalries in the 1950's as the Dons opened with a 9-1 series advantage.
Quickie Notes
Fresno State is 4-0 at the Save Mart Center for the second time in three years. The `Dogs are looking to post their best home start at the Save Mart Center after matching their best SMC start last week. With two more home games on the docket during their five-game homestand, the Bulldogs will have the opportunity to make a significant mark. At home, Fresno State is averaging 80.8 points and is holding its opponents to 69.8. Three Bulldogs are averaging double figures at home to spark the team to a +11.0 scoring margin.
