Memphis -
On the Matchup: This is a matchup between two teams that are very proficient offensively. Both teams have a lot of weapons and are able to put a lot of points on the board. The funny thing about that though, is that's not necessarily how the game is going to turn out. Earlier this year, people thought that our game with Boise State was going to be a shootout, and that was really a defensive struggle. So, while this game could have a lot of points scored, that's not necessarily what's going to happen.
On Tulsa: Well, they've put together a great run to end the season, winning six out of their last seven games, which is very impressive. You have to have a very good football team to get a run like that. I mean, when you look at the teams around the nation, only USC and Texas have been able to keep a great run intact through the entire season, which is what makes them so impressive. Likewise, with Tulsa, when a team comes in the way they are playing, that is something that you have to pay attention to.
On Garrett Mills: Obviously, he's an outstanding player, and is the focal point of their offense. However, what makes him doubly dangerous is that he is a great decoy. All great players make great decoys, and Mills is no exception. If you spend too much time focusing on how to stop Mills, Tulsa has plenty of other ways to beat you.
On Memphis: We've definitely enjoyed our time here in Memphis. I got the chance to look around by the Peabody where we are staying and to get some barbeque yesterday, and it's been a pleasure. I usually don't see much of the cities that we go to. Pretty much just the stadium and the hotel. I'm really just looking forward to the game. That's always the most important thing, and the thing that I'm focusing on through the whole time I'm in a city. It's not a very good vacation, but I have a good time coaching.
On the Seniors: This group has certainly been one of the most successful, and it's been a great pleasure to coach them. It's not a great big group; there are only six who start, but they are all very special players that have meant a lot to this program. And you know, I feel very fortunate, because this is the last game for our second family to come through the program, which not a lot of coaches get to see. We first had the class with David Carr, now this one, and we have another great group coming next year.
