Game Information
Fresno State makes a brief home appearance tonight when the Bulldogs host CS Northridge. This will be just the second home game of the year for the `Dogs, who are opening the season by playing five of their first seven games on the road. In the home opener, Fresno State posted an 80-73 win over Oregon State on Nov. 26.
The Series
Fresno State is meeting CS Northridge for the 29th time since 1960. The two programs last met in 1999 and the Matadors posted a 69-66 victory in Fresno. The Bulldogs, however, lead the series 23-5 and have captured five of the last six contests. Of interesting note is the fact that of the 28 games played, eight have seen the century mark reached by at least one team and once, in 1970, did both notch 100 or more points against each other in the same game. Of the 100-point games, Fresno State owns a 7-1 advantage. In the double 100-point game, the `Dogs won 110-109 (2 ot) on the road.
Quickie Notes
Kevin Bell continues to lead the WAC in assists (6.5) and assist/turnover ratio (2.6) while Hosley is tops in steals (3.7). Bell also is second in steals (2.2) and third in free throw percentage (.875). Hosley also is listed among six other WAC categories: No. 2 offensive rebounds (3.5), No. 3 rebounding (7.8), No. 4 scoring (18.5), No. 4 blocks (1.25), No. 8 free throw percentage (.731) and No. 9 defensive rebounds (4.25). In addition, his six steals against Oregon State is a WAC single-game season-high.
