FRESNO, Calif. - Bulldog senior defensive end Garrett McIntyre is one of 24 players on the preseason watch list for the 2005 Ted Hendricks Award, which is given to the nation's top defensive end. This is the fourth year for the Hendricks Award, which went to Arizona State's Tyrell Suggs in 2002 and to Georgia's David Pollack each of the last two years.
The award will be presented based on the following criteria, on-field performance, leadership, and contributions to school and community.

He was selected the defensive MVP of the 2003 Silicon Valley Football Classic as he dismantled the UCLA offensive line in the Bulldogs 17-9 victory over the Bruins.
McIntyre has excelled in the classroom having earned Academic All-WAC honors twice.
