The Bulldogs will kickoff the year with tough competition series right off the bat facing NCAA regional qualifier San Francisco on February 2nd. On February 9th, Fresno State will face NCAA regional champion Stanford. The Bulldogs will then battle two more NCAA regional tournament teams in Pepperdine and San Diego.
"Our schedule for 2007 is difficult but ballanced, head coach Mike Batesole said. "We will be tested in non-league games on the road against very good Stanford & Pepperdine clubs to prepare us for the tough road games ahead in WAC play and to balance that out, we will play 36 home games including the Pepsi Johnny Quik Classic @ Beiden Field where we have our fans in the stands."
Fresno State will host the PJQ Classic on March 12-17 at Beiden Field against Iowa, Arkansas and Dallas Baptist.
The month of February will test the Bulldogs as they face three of the five NCAA regional tournament teams.
Fresno State will begin its WAC games starting with Louisiana Tech March 23rd. Then the Bulldogs will face their last NCAA regional tournament team qualifier April 13th at home against Hawai'i. The Bulldogs will conclude with three conference tournament teams with San Jose State, Louisiana Tech and Hawai'i.
Fresno State finished the year 48-18 overall and 18-6 in the WAC. The Bulldogs won 34 of those games at home last year. Fresno State also qualified as an NCAA regional tournament team.
WAC Tournament play will begin May 23 in Nevada, Reno at Peccole Park. NCAA regional begins June 1-3 followed by Super regional's June 8-10 and the College World Series June 15-23.
