Jackson and Leiby Fair Well at Bronco Classic

FRESNO, Calif. - Sophomore Greg Jackson and freshman Taylor Leiby made their debuts over the weekend for the Fresno State men's tennis team. Both Jackson and Leiby participated in the Santa Clara Bronco Classic Oct. 6-8 in both the singles and doubles brackets.
Leiby was the four-seed in the Flight C brackett and advanced to the round of 16. He had a first round bye before beating Sonoma State's Connor Olson in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. In the round of 16, Leiby fell in a tight three-set match to Michael Reiser of UC Davis. Reiser went on to win the Flight C title.
Jackson, also playing in Flight C, beat Julian Sunn of UC Santa Cruz 6-0, 7-6 (3), in the round of 64. In the round of 32, Jackson fell to Kenzo Kirakawa-Wong of Santa Clara, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.
Jackson and Leiby were defeated in the Flight B doubles round of 32 by Oregon's Hugh McDonald and Eric Pickard, 8-3.
Fresno State will host its annual Bulldog Classic this weekend, Oct. 13-15, at the Wathen Tennis Center. Admission is Free.
